Major US City (Confidential Client via Channel Partner)

Who We Are & What We Do
ETE was retained by a client that had an existing relationship with a major US City. The electric utility serving this city had recently implemented a new billing system that resulted in widespread and sustained billing errors. Despite significant challenges obtaining utility billing data for this client, ETE was able to collate and organize utility bills for hundreds of accounts and create a taxonomy of issue types. ETE’s findings included specific patterns of billing and metering errors occurring within certain time windows. ETE also found widespread suboptimal rate assignments, chronic estimated meter reads, zero use meters, misapplication of retail supplier charges, and incorrect meter multipliers with total identified issues having a cost impact of nearly one million dollars. ETE provided comprehensive documentation for each identified issue to the client.
